Shopify enforces a daily variant creation limit on stores.
Once your Shopify store has reached a total of 50,000 variants (including deleted ones), you’ll be limited to adding no more than 1,000 new variants per day. Each product in Shopify can have up to 100 variants.
When you reach the daily variant creation limit, you will see the following error: Daily variant creation limit reached. Please wait 24 hours before attempting to import again.
This limit applies to all Shopify stores, except for stores on the Shopify Plus plan.
If you prefer not to wait 24 hours, there’s a workaround:
- Export products using the POKY export feature:
- Import the exported file directly from your Shopify product dashboard.
